The Role

The .NET Full-Stack Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing web applications across both backend and frontend technologies.

Working as part of a collaborative development team, the role will contribute to the design and delivery of reliable, scalable and maintainable software solutions. The successful candidate will have a solid foundation in full-stack development, with particular experience in .NET and C#, alongside the ability and enthusiasm to learn and work with new technologies as required.

The role will also involve using AI-assisted development tools to support software development, including code generation, troubleshooting, testing and productivity. The successful candidate will be comfortable working alongside AI tools while applying their own technical knowledge and judgement to review, validate and refine AI-generated outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance web applications across both backend and frontend components.

• Develop reliable and scalable backend services and APIs using .NET and C#.

• Contribute to frontend development using modern web technologies and frameworks.

• Use AI-assisted development tools to support coding, debugging, testing, research and problem-solving.

• Review, validate and refine AI-generated code and recommendations, applying sound technical judgement and development standards.

• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code in line with agreed development standards.

• Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

• Participate in code reviews, testing and debugging activities to maintain high standards of software quality.

• Work collaboratively with Business Analysts, Developers, QA and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, practices and technical solutions.

• Quickly learn and apply new technologies, tools, frameworks and AI-assisted development approaches where required.

• Support the delivery of high-quality software within agreed timescales.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Practical experience in full-stack software development.

• Strong working knowledge of .NET and C#.

• Experience developing web applications and backend services/APIs.

• Understanding of frontend development and modern web technologies.

• Good understanding of software development principles and practices.

• Experience troubleshooting, debugging and resolving technical issues.

• Ability to write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.

• Experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively with AI-assisted development tools, using them to support coding, debugging, testing and problem-solving.

• Ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code and suggestions, ensuring outputs are secure, accurate, maintainable and aligned with development standards.

• Strong underlying software development fundamentals, with the ability to understand, adapt and take ownership of AI-assisted outputs.

• Experience working collaboratively within a software development team.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to learn new technologies and frameworks quickly.

Desirable

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot or similar tools.

• Working within an Agile software development environment.

• Experience with automated testing and/or test-driven development.

• Experience with modern frontend frameworks and technologies.

• Experience participating in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
