Bromcom provides a Management Information System to the education market. The company is poised for significant growth from new business and by taking market share from other solutions on the market. We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to undertake all aspects of financial management and reporting for this fast growing Software company. The Management Accountant will report to the Head of Finance. The Management Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting function, preparation of management accounts and monthly reporting. Also responsible for preparing the year-end accounts and supporting the annual audit.
The role would suit someone who is analytical and diligent and will add value through generating insight by providing departmental performance analysis, monitoring KPI’s and supporting the Head of Finance.

Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day administration and accounting function of the company and reporting directly to the Head of Finance.
Strive to maintain the company ethos for diligent, attention to detail, accurate and high-quality work across the department.
Undertake the month-end close process, including reconciliation of control accounts, accruals, prepayments, deferred income, to enable accurate and timely reporting of monthly management information.
Prepare monthly management accounts including detailed schedules for each P&L and BS account. Followed by an extended Trial Balance, monthly and year-to-date P&L and Balance Sheet.
Prepare and update departmental forecasts and report variance analysis against actuals and budgets.
Undertake KPI/margin analysis to drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to increase revenue and reduce/monitor costs across all departments.
Leading and coordinating the annual budgeting process, forecast review and cashflow management process.
Manage preparation of audit file to ensure all post balance sheet events and any provisions are accounted for prior to commencement of audit work. Liaise with company auditors to ensure smooth workflow of the audit assignment and signed financial statements are available for filing and circulation as required.
Manage the Sales Order Book process, which accounts for all new sales orders received and requires weekly reconciliation.
Prepare quarterly VAT returns. Manage HMRC online account including payments on account for Corporation Tax and VAT.
Act as a “Business Partner” to the operations teams and assume the main point of contact for all operational finance queries. This will involve working with teams to help identify where value can be added/costs reduced and budgetary control.
Implement systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Support the Accounts Assistance if required, providing leadership and mentoring.
Assist the Head of Finance CFO in ad hoc projects and additional duties as necessary.
Requirements
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Experience in preparing management accounts/budgeting/forecasting/cashflow management/Payroll
• Strong understanding of accounting under UK GAAP.
• Leadership skills, interpersonal skills, integrity, reliability, accuracy with high attention to detail
• Organisation skills with ability to effectively prioritise to ensure all deadlines are met.
• Ability to work both independently and with other departments.
• Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.
• Proficient in Excel and understanding in basic formulas (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s).
• Excellent computer skills with preferably experience using Sage Intacct.
